Do you know the detailed inspection steps of brake pads?

(Você conhece as etapas detalhadas da inspeção das pastilhas de freio?)

Brake pads(Pastilhas de freio) are the more critical safety parts of the car, all the brake effect is good or bad brake pads play a decisive role, car brake pad manufacturers remind riders to protect the brake system. The following will introduce you to the detailed detection steps of brake pads!

Finger touch judgment

Due to frequent friction, many small scratches on the brake disc are normal.

However, if the scratch is significantly deeper, forming a shape similar to a small groove, you can use your fingers to touch the edge of the groove. If the edge is sharp, it means that the groove is deep, we need to consult the 4S shop whether it needs to be replaced.

Viewing groove

Most brake discs are distributed with small grooves called wear indicators. When the brake disc(Disco de freio) is worn and can not see the small groove, it indicates that the wear limit has been reached, and the brake disc needs to be replaced immediately.

Judging by thickness

Brake pads in long-term use, with continuous friction during braking, the thickness will become thinner and thinner. The general service life is generally about 40,000-60,000 kilometers, and the harsh vehicle environment and aggressive driving style will also shorten the service life in advance.

When the brake clamp design reasons can not be seen with the naked eye brake pads, you can maintain the vehicle, let the maintenance master disassemble the wheel inspection.

The two sections of the brake pads have a protruding mark, about 2-3 mm thick, which is the replacement limit of the thinner brake pads. If the thickness of the brake pads is found to be parallel to the mark, it needs to be replaced immediately.

Sound judgment

When you tap the brake, if you hear a sharp “bared” sound, it indicates that the thickness has reached the limit, causing the two sides of the logo to directly rub the brake disc. It must be replaced immediately.

Judging by the dashboard indicator

The brake indicator light on the dashboard indicates that the car’s brake system is malfunctioning.

It should be emphasized to check whether the brake disc (disc) has excessive wear phenomenon. If there is no obvious excessive wear of the brake disc (sheet), it may be that the brake oil is insufficient or there is a problem on the line leading to the brake indicator light, and you should go to the 4S shop as soon as possible to check and repair.

I hope you must pay attention to the maintenance and maintenance of the brake system!
