China’s visa-free transit policy has been fully relaxed and improved

The National Immigration Administration announced today that it will comprehensively relax and optimize the transit visa-free policy, extending the stay time of transit visa-free foreigners in China from 72 hours and 144 hours to 240 hours (10 days), while adding 21 ports of entry and exit for transit visa-free people, and further expanding the areas for stay and activity. Eligible nationals from 54 countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada, who transit from China to a third country (region), can visit China visa-free at any of the 60 ports open to the outside world in 24 provinces (regions and municipalities), and stay in the specified areas for no more than 240 hours.

The relevant person in charge of the National Immigration Administration introduced that the relaxation and optimization of the transit visa-free policy is an important measure for the National Immigration Administration to seriously study and implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, actively serve to promote a high level of opening up to the outside world, and facilitate exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel, which is conducive to accelerating the cross-border flow of personnel and promoting foreign exchanges and cooperation. We will inject new momentum into high-quality economic and social development. In the next step, the National Immigration Administration will continue to further promote the opening-up of the immigration management system, constantly optimize and improve the immigration convenience policy, continue to improve the convenience of foreigners to study, work and live in China, and welcome more foreign friends to come to China and experience the beauty of China in the new era.
